What are some good Canadian-based parts retailers to order from online?
And while I realize it's American, who of you have ordered from RockAuto to Canada? I've always heard good things about RockAuto either from here on Oppo or elsewhere online.
For your time, have a couple of 991 Carrera GTS wallpapers that I grabbed from porsche.com and presonally resized to 1920x1080
There's lots more where those came from if anyone's interested.

This pic will rustle jimmies, not here perhaps, but the rustling elsewhere is inevitable. Post it to r/Canada for a jimmy rustling of apocalyptic proportions.

No, I know it wouldn't bother the vast majority of you guys, but you know the types (not personally I hope) that would go crazy about this.

The "we hate america" types. Those types are idiots. America is not perfect, but they are great friends of ours.

Exactly. You guys aren't perfect but you are one of our core group of important allies. And great ones at that.

I've ordered a couple of things from Rock Auto. They've been good to me.
There's NAPA, Part Source, Canadian Tire. They probably ship if you order online, or just go into their stores and I'm sure they will order in.

I went in to Crappy Tire this morning, the headlight switch I need was out-of-stock. I figure that if I have to wait for it to come in, I may as well order online if doing so saves me money.
GM dealer: $120
CT: $84.99
RockAuto: $60.02 CAD, shipped to my door. From what I understand, that price includes tax and duty. From your experience, am I correct?
NAPA and Lordco likely are around the same price as CT or higher. We don't have PartSource here in B.C., but I imagine they'd be the same price as CT.

I've had reasonably good results with RockAuto. They carry parts for my '91 Jeep Comanche that even dealers have trouble finding, and typically beat the dealer prices by a significant margin. The best example of that was a flexplate (aka flywheel, but for automatics) which the dealer said the best they could do was $225, rockauto got me one for $80 all in, shipped to my door. The parts stores (Parts Source, Crappy tire, Napa, Piston Ring) couldn't even get me one.
But the things that the parts stores carry can typically be had for more or less the same money as parts shipped from RockAuto, and you usually don't have to wait a couple weeks for shipping. If you can wait for something, or order a whole bunch of stuff at the same time (from the same warehouse) at RockAuto to combine shipping, then it's typically worth it, and you'll save a few bucks, especially if you put in the 5% discount code they give everyone who buys there. But if you need something ASAP, parts stores will be able to get you something more quickly even if they have to order it in, and typically don't charge extra for it. Longest I waited for a part at Parts Source (they're owned by Crappy Tire and I've actually had them bring parts back and forth between both stores in the same city) was two days. Napa I've usually only dealt with through the bumbling buffoons at my local farming co-op, so I can't much speak for them. Their store brand parts are reputed to be of better quality, though.
I've never been charged duty for something from RockAuto. I don't remember if they include it in the shipping fee at checkout or if it's a separate list item (it's been a while since I last ordered from them) but their package arrives with a statement inside that RockAuto is importing the part, not you.
Also, they have excellent customer service. The above flexplate, when it got to me, had obviously previously been installed. It wasn't broken, but it had scratches and stuff where the bolts went and it had some greasy dirt stuck to it in a few spots. I took a couple pictures, emailed them back at like, 8pm, and by 10am the next morning, I had an apologetic email with tracking info for the new one at no charge. It even showed up faster than the first (one week vs two), and they didn't want the first one back.

Thanks! That helps a lot.
It's not something that I need right away, and RockAuto's price is 70% of CT's & half that of the dealer.

Also worth noting, I've found via Google a couple Canadian online stores that carry parts at just about the same price as RockAuto, but with greatly reduced shipping costs. I've never ended up using any of them, though.

Sounds about right. I got a headlight/signal stalk from them, something like $40 plus shipping and whatever, came to around $50 total. No extra fees.
